About Kisandy Foundation
The Kisandy Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening mental wellness, supporting vulnerable individuals, and restoring dignity to underserved communities in Zambia. Rooted in compassion and guided by the principle of beneficence, we work to address the emotional, social, and practical challenges that impact daily life—especially for the elderly, people facing mental health conditions, and families carrying hidden burdens.
At Kisandy Foundation, we believe that people are multidimensional—and their wellbeing must be approached holistically. Whether addressing mental health, food security, shelter, or emotional support, our work begins with seeing each individual in the full context of their environment.
We exist for one purpose:
To serve. To support. To restore hope where it has been lost.
Our Focus Areas
Together, we are building a future where mental wellness is not a privilege, but a shared right; where every person—young or old—can live with dignity, safety, and a renewed sense of possibility.
The Faces Behind Kisandy
The Kisandy Foundation is led by a team of compassionate individuals united by a shared commitment to mental wellness, community care, and human dignity. Our work is driven by lived experience, professional knowledge, and a deep desire to uplift those who are often overlooked.
Leadership
At the heart of the foundation is our founder, Chuswe Chileshe-Shangala, a Social Work professional whose personal journey inspires the organization’s mission. Her experience in community development, mental health awareness, and family-centered support guides the vision and values of Kisandy Foundation.
Our team brings together individuals with strengths in social work, counseling support, community outreach, administration, and caregiving. We believe in working collaboratively—with communities, families, and local leaders—to ensure that every program we offer is grounded in compassion, respect, and cultural understanding.
Our Approach
Our work is guided by the ethical principle of beneficence, ensuring that every action taken seeks to bring about the greatest good for individuals and communities.
